Transformers hot rod studio series2/28/2024 ![]() ![]() Pipes act as blasters with ports that can double up. The long-awaited figure has a lot of detail on the alternate mode that can tow Optimus Prime trailer. They moved the cab front to go behind the head, which has pipes weapons, and different tires. Pipes is a lovable character made off Huffer mold. Has the opportunity to see another scale in the Studio Series line later. This is a low price point for affordable figures. They wanted to highlight the Core class scale with a popular character. Shockwave is the only one not true to scale. Missle is removable and can be plugged into Soundwave's shoulder. Rockets can be removed and placed in different places. Has jaw, neck, torso, tail, and many imb joints. Has more articulation than most small figures. Wanted to ensure it would load in Soundwave's chest. Ravage was a debut character for the Core class. They went for Cybertron look design with Takusan of Takara. Wanted to have ports and different windows instead of tape deck on alt mode. They went with a classic look but not a tape deck and chose a hovercraft design. He had a long onscreen look so they set out to find a form that would fit figure. Soundwave the controversial figure was one of the first they wanted to include in the Studio Series line because fans love it. Cowboy ballistic shield, with lights like Bumblebee's. They didn't want to have a G1 drill, used a cinematic drill instead. Design by Hasui at Takara who wanted to add drill on alt mode. Sort of like Batman Begins look with drill on front. Comes with a blaster and drill bit weapon. They feel it came out like an old design.Ä«rawn is the smallest of the character, they had to replicate his scale to the other figures. Original Wheeljack didn't have wheels on Robot mode, but they decided to hide them like Cybertron look. ![]() Using G1 elements with Cybertronian look based on Bumblebee and Cliffjumper look. Wheeljack was one of Sam's favorites to work on. Working with Takara to make a loyal render. They began with the concept art showing the windscreen and shoulders with quarter panels. Ratchet has a port on alt mode to hold the blaster. It was a challenge to do the vehicles when they have to compromise on one to satisfy the other. The figures were not originally Studio Series figures because they did not have alternate modes, but they decided to do them eventually where they created alt modes on their own for each toy.
